Halloween candy is one of those things you just can’t do without -- after all, you need something to hand out to Trick or Treaters when they visit your home. And while your candy expenses may not seem like much, every little bit can stretch your budget even further. That’s exactly why this is the best time of the year to start using candy coupons.
How to clip candy coupons
Given that this is a time when people across the country are likely to be buying enormous amounts of candy, the competition among manufacturers is intense, which means you may find numerous coupons. All you need to do is look for them in the right places! The coupons may be present as inserts in the Sunday newspaper or other periodicals, or they may be stuck to the packaging of different products. You can also look for them online and print or download them to use when you’re at the store.
Skip the chocolates
Chocolate candy is more expensive than its sugar-based counterparts, even if you use a coupon. If you’re looking to save money, it’s a good idea to skip the chocolate entirely and buy whatever is least expensive. Tootsie Rolls are, perhaps, your best option since they don’t cost too much, and you can throw a few of them into every child’s bag as opposed to handing them one chocolate candy.
If you don’t have any coupons on hand but still want to score some deals, your best bet is to, in fact, wait until Halloween morning. A few stores may run sales on the candy that they haven’t been able to sell. Remember that you’re not going to get the best products if you do this! But, you’ll save some money.
