One of the largest grocery stores in the country, Kroger® is a great place for couponers to shop at. But, if you are new to couponing or haven’t used coupons at Kroger® in the past, you likely have a lot of questions on your mind. That’s why we’ve listed down a few key things you need to know when trying to coupon at Kroger®.
1. Sign up for a Kroger® Shopper’s Plus account:
Before you do anything else, make sure to get the Kroger® Shopper’s Plus account. While you’ll get sale prices even without signing up for this account, you won’t get personalized offers and digital coupons.
2. Download the app:
Couponing at Kroger® is quite easy if you have the app. Once you download the Kroger® app to your smartphone, you should link the app and your Shopper’s Plus account. Once you do this, you can scan items to check if there is a coupon that can be used. When you get to the checkout counter, you can either enter your contact number or scan your card, and the savings will be reflected in your total bill value automatically.
3. Kroger® accepts digital and manufacturer coupons:
Whether you downloaded your coupon online or clipped it from the Sunday newspaper, Kroger® stores typically accept both digital and manufacturer coupons.
4. Get personalized coupons mailed to you by Kroger®:
Every few weeks (typically between 4 and 6 weeks), Kroger® will mail you personalized coupons. These coupons are likely to be a combination of store and manufacturer coupons, and they are selected based on what you’ve bought in the past. This means you may get coupons that are different from the ones that are currently available to everyone else.
5. Use your manufacturer coupons even when you opt for Kroger® Grocery Pickup:
When you arrive to pick up your items, the Kroger® associate will check what coupons you would like to use. You can hand over the coupons you have, and they will scan it at the store and bring you a revised receipt. So, even if you are just going to pick up your groceries from Kroger®, don’t forget to bring your coupons along with you.
6. You can’t use competitor coupons at Kroger®:
Kroger® has a strict policy against accepting competitor coupons unless the coupons you have are for the pharmacy.
